PAMM Inspires 8,000 Campers this Summer

PAMM’s teaching artists have spent the summer visiting various summer camps for days full learning, art making, and fun! The children receive an introduction to the museum, have a brief discussion, and then are able to work on both individual and collaborative art making projects.  Once the session is completed the children receive art kits containing essential art making supplies, as well as complimentary passes to return to the museum with their families.

PAMM in the Neighborhood is one of the many programs that make up the museum’s robust art education program, the largest outside the Miami-Dade County school system. Launched in 2003, with an initial participation of about 3,500 children, the program has now grown to serve nearly 8,000 children each summer. PAMM in the Neighborhood has won a national award for innovative programming in 2007 and is in the National Association of Counties database as a model program.
